Clinging to dreams
I took a walk last night
Around Eleven Thirty
I watched the world pass by
I watched the teens turn thirty
I saw the president change things
I saw life stay the same
I heard the rumors about the
Ultimate death
I heard the soldiers marching,
Left right left
I’m still holding onto dreams
The world’s gonna go on without me
I’m still clinging to dreams
But no one really needs me
I walked from Oregon to New York
I passed by trains, buses, and airports
I watched day and night take their shifts
I was gone for awhile, seems I wasn’t missed
I saw death and birth, life and waste
But I wasn’t missed in one place
I’m still holding onto dreams
The world’s gonna go on without me
I’m still clinging to dreams
But no one really needs me
I saw the angel of death visit homes
I walked the streets of this country all lone
I heard the screams of victims
I heard the screams of the people saving them
I met a friend or two,
But they went back to their homes
They left me too
I’m still holding onto dreams
The world’s gonna go on without me
I’m still clinging to dreams
But no one really needs me
